Simple Stories 'Legacy'

We just received 2 brand new lines in by Simple Stories - I love their collections as there are always so many different elements and quotes you can cut apart to add interest to your page. One of the new ranges is 'Legacy' which is perfect for any vintage photos you might have or for use on any Ancestry / Family Tree themed layouts. The other new collection is 'Cozy Christmas' which will be online shortly (although it is a struggle to get my head around Christmas in August!).

For both of these layouts I started with white pieces of cardstock as the base. I firstly added some mists in gold and brown. Then I applied some Distress Ink (Frayed Burlap) with an ink blending tool over various different masks. I added some stamping in areas and some Tim Holtz tissue tape and the background was ready to add embellishments too.

For the Graduated Circles chipboard piece in this layout I first painted this with PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint in 'French Roast'. I then applied Embossing ink in random patches, coated these areas in Frantage Embossing Enamel and heated.

For the Shabby Brick Bits chipboard I left these bare and lightly brushed the 'French Roast' paint on parts and then added some gold Silks Glaze Acrylic paint in patches too to give these a nice shine.

The second layout started with a very similar background - made again white cardstock and a range of different sprays, masks and tape.
