Betsy's Couture 2 (Kaiser Craft)

How could I resist making just one layout using the new Kaiser Craft collection - 'Betsy's Couture'! To follow on from my previous layout I made this layout to complement it in my album.

For this layout I used the largest clock on the acetate clock sheet which comes with this collection as the focal point. I painted a Bo Bunny chipboard piece navy and then added some pearl dots in a colour which co-ordinates with the teal colours in the papers.

Thank you for looking,

Betsy's Couture (Kaiser Craft)

We have just added a new Kaiser Craft collection to the website so I thought I would take some papers aside and see what came to me - a little inspiration ready for the weekend! This collection is another vintage style set of papers and embellishments in navy, teal and creams with floral and lacy prints. I teamed this up with a concrete effect backing paper by Fabscraps.

The acetate sheet of clocks which is part of this collection is a favourite of mine already, you get a full sheet of clock designs in different sizes and these are perfect for tucking behind areas which need that little something extra. I added some pearl dots around my clock to make it stand out more.

I added some random script stamping on the background paper in black ink before layering up my papers. The navy circle is 9.5" and I backed this on a teal circle to get a border.

I have added links to the products used in this layout below.

Sanctuary Layout 2 (Blue Fern Studios)

I have another layout to share today using the Blue Fern Studios 'Sanctuary' collection which I used in my last blog post. These papers are perfect for vintage style scrapbooking - the colours and the patterns match older photos perfectly. I added Frayed Burlap distress Ink around all of my paper scraps to keep with the vintage theme.

I added a script stamp to the background paper in black ink in random places. After applying some texture paste through a floral Memory Box Stencil I added some white pearl dots.

For the chipboard butterflies I gave these a coat of white paint and then brushed on some blue chalk ink to match the papers. I then stamped a script stamp over the top in black ink. To finish, I added some Stickles Glitter Glue in Baby Blue to areas of the butterflies.

Sanctuary (Blue Fern Studios)

I have a layout to share today using the new 'Sanctuary' collection by Blue Fern Studios which was added online yesterday.

I started by cutting a wavy edge with scissors around the 'Conservatory' paper, I then used an ink blending tool and a distress ink pad to give the edge some colour before crimping the border up with my hands. I added some distress ink (Frayed Burlap) with an ink blending tool through a stencil in a couple of areas on the conservatory paper too.
I used the 'Wall to Wall' clear stamp by Bo Bunny and a sepia ink pad to add some subtle brick wall images to the background and once I had layered up papers in the centre ready for my photo I stamped a Jumbo Stampendous floral stamp in black ink.

The Notched Square punch was used to add a border to one of the papers at the bottom of the page - this punch is one of my favourites as you can then add in small pearl dots to highlight the punched areas.

Paris Flea Market - Limited Edition Kit (Pion Designs)

We have just added a new Limited Edition Kit to the website featuring a brand new collection by Pion Designs. This collection is full of soft floral shabby chic patterns in baby blues and baby pinks.

For the first layout I focused on some of the pink papers and added in some stencilling using a new Memory Box stencil and some pink texture paste which works perfectly with these papers. It is difficult to see from the photo but the texture paste has a pearly finish to it. I added some Frantage Shabby Embossing Enamel in places and layered up some of cut apart elements in the middle of the layout for my photo to sit on.

For the second layout I focused on the blues in this collection. The chipboard piece was painted using some watercolour paints - H20 Olive Vine and Inklingz Me and Blue. I then added some glitter glue in random areas to the flower part of the chipboard and some pearl dots in yellow to resemble flower centres (similar to the cut-apart image on the right hand side of the layout). For a change, I decided to have an oval photograph - I used a set of templates by Colour My World to draw around. Some Frantage Embossing Enamel in blue finished off the vintage feel. I used a Distress Ink Pad in 'Weathered Wood' and an Ink Blending tool to add colour to all the edges of my layered papers.

You can find the kit here :)

Authentique Classique Beauty

We have just received a new collection into store by Authentique Paper - a line called 'Classique Beauty'. This collection is largely yellow, black and grey - I think it works particularly well with black and white photographs.

For my first layout I created a background by adding strips of different patterned papers. I then added a bordered edge to a piece of white cardstock to create a centre point for my photo and embellishments. The bow was created using a piece of paper from the 6x6 paper pad with some Sue Wilson Bow dies - these dies are actually 3-Dimsional but this doesn't show up very well in the photo. The quote card is from the 3x4 pad which goes with this collection - the pad is full of lots of different quotes and journal cards.

For my next layout I started by spraying a few areas on the 'Eiffel Tower' paper with Tuscan Sun ink. I then added some texture paste with a script stencil to the background and stamped a couple of images including a new stone wall texture stamp by Bo Bunny.

For the chipboard circle frame I firstly gave this a coating of white paint (I used Cosmic Shimmer Matt Chalk Paint in Warm White). Once dry, I randomly stamped a script stamp in grey ink onto the chipboard piece.

You can find all of the products I used to create these layouts below.

February Monthly Kit 'Montage'

Our February Monthly Kit is now online!
This month we used some papers by Blue Fern Studios from their 'Montage' collection. Their papers are the most heavyweight of papers we stock so they are perfect for adding inks, mists and pastes too.

I created 2 layouts for this months kit. I started by adding some texture paste through a new Bo Bunny Stickable Stencil in areas - the Dazzlerz paste I used dries pearly and similar to the pearl pen dots which I added on top once this was dry. The new Bo Bunny stickable stencils are designed with one side sticky so that they stay in place whilst you apply the paste.

I added a few stamped areas - text using a grey ink pad and a lamp post using a black ink pad. I finished off by adding glossy accents over the flowers on the paper so that they shine in the light .

Simple Stories 2015 CHA Recap (Picture Heavy Post!!)

I wanted to share a second re-cap of new products shipping to us shortly which were released at the Winter trade show in January - this time by Simple Stories.

Simple Stories have been a firm favourite in recent years, creating fun and fresh products that can be used for traditional scrapbook layouts as well as the pocket-page style albums with all of their cut apart paper elements. The designs and range of products by Simple Stories never fail to impress me and these collections were amongst our favourites at the show.

This year saw the release of a Disney Princess release 'Enchanted' - a perfect addition to their hugely popular 'Say Cheese' line which is perfect for Disney related albums. As you will see below they have also released a second line of 'Say Cheese'! The third collection we ordered was their 'I am' collection which is full of mint, coral, cream, black and gold colours. This collection is perfect to scrapbook about yourself.

We have ordered all 3 of these collections which should be with us in the not too distant future as they are being released this month, but in the meantime I wanted to share all of the photos of projects which were displayed using these new items...it might just help any of you planning your next project! :)

This post is picture heavy but the pictures say it best!.... :)
