Kaiser Craft Cherry Blossom plus Gold!

This week to have a break from Christmas layouts I reached for some of the new Kaiser Craft 'Cherry Blossom' collection which has just arrived and knew I wanted to combine this with my favourite colour - Gold! We R Memory Keepers have some lovely gold vellums and I used the hearts and stripes for these layouts. Silver and Copper colours are also available too.

For the pocket, I folded some vellum in half and stitched 3 sides. I then put some gold sequins in and stitched the 4th side up to seal in the sequins. I embellished the front with some ribbon, a cork shape by Teresa Collins as well as a Prima Marketing lightbulb embellishment. The gold heart was cut from gold foil card using a Little B set of heart dies. These dies emboss a stitched effect around the heart too.

I die cut the word 'Perfect' on my Silhouette Cameo and added this over some Frantage Embossing powder which has pink, white and gold sparkles in.

For the chipboard word I dabbed on some Embossing Ink and applied gold embossing powder to the entire word.

In the December release 'Cherry Blossom' by Kaiser Craft there is a really good set of word stamps. I used one of these ('Our Story') and heat embossed this in gold. The stamped image was the perfect fit for the lovely heart resin frame embellishment. The pack of collectables also have some quote cards in which fit perfectly in this cork polaroid frame shape.

Santa's Workshop (Doodlebug)

Todays layout I am sharing is a fun Christmas layout using Doodlebug supplies. I started by layering 3 sheets of paper as a base and then using strips of different patterned papers to create a hung banner across the middle of the page.

I used a couple of the Doodle-pop stickers by Doodlebug - these are 3D stickers with embellishments such as googly eyes, glitter, adhesive gems etc. I added some enamel dots randomly in 2 of the corners. It is difficult to see in the picture but the border stickers that I have added to the edges of some of the banner shapes are glittery.

Yuletide (Kaiser Craft) ... an extra layout!

We have another Yuletide layout for you today. This one still uses the 6.5"x6.5" paper pad and collectables which were used on our previous two layouts but in addition we used an extra sheet of black cardstock, a sheet of stickers, a sheet of gold glitter cardstock and a die-cut paper. So if you did purchase the items for the previous two Yuletide layouts you only need these 4 items to complete this layout too.

For this layout I wanted to try incorporating Iris Folding into a scrapbook layout. I have seen a lot of this on cards but it is rare to see on scrapbook layouts and I thought a Christmas layout was a good place to start! I chose to create a bauble design using papers from the 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad and some gold glitter card.

As a guide, I found this on Pinterest. I printed the template out and reduced its size to work with my layout (I copied it into Microsoft Word and printed out a few in different sizes to begin with). I then traced the outline onto my die-cut paper and cut the outline of the shape out with a craft knife. Next, I stuck the printed template to my craft mat and laid my die-cut paper with the bauble shape cut out over it so I could see where each piece of patterned paper which was going to make up the bauble was to be placed. You then simply cut snippets from the paper pad and stick this to the back of the die-cut paper starting at 1 and alternating colours until the bauble is finished. I cut out a bow from a Sue Wilson die-cut set to finish off the bauble.

Using a craft knife I cut around the Holly cluster in the bottom left corner so that I could tuck my photo behind. Platinum and Christmas Red Stickles glitter glue give the layout a nice sparkle.

You can find a link to the products used below. These items are in addition to the items shown on the other Yuletide layouts created on our previous blog post except for the punch.

Yuletide (Kaiser Craft)

I have two more Festive layouts to share today :)

These two layouts were created with just a 6"x6" paper pad, a pack of die-cut shapes by Kaiser Craft, some black cardstock and a stencil. It was a nice change to make a layout without cutting down any 12" x 12" paper but there are so many lovely shapes in the Collectables by Kaiser Craft (they release these with every collection they bring out!) that you really can make lovely layouts without the need for much paper.

I haven't added my photos yet on these layouts - I wanted to get them ready so that after Christmas I just need to print my photos and cut them to size.

In the 6" x 6" pad you also get a few sheets of die-cut cardstock shapes in the back including the scalloped border design in the top left corner of this layout:

I added some Stickles Glitter Glue to the holly sprays die-cuts and the christmas tree baubles to make it sparkle. I outlined quite a lot of the shapes with small dots using a White gel pen. I also used the white pen through the Festive Stencil instead of texture paste so that it matched all of the dots.

Saint Nick (Fancy Pants Designs)

I have another festive themed layout to share today using the 'Saint Nick' collection by Fancy Pants. I am really enjoying using a variety of different manufacturers christmas papers this year - some are more traditional, some are perfect for smaller children or babies like the layouts on my last blog post and this collection is just full of fun colours and patterns - perfect for any christmas photo. All of the icons on the layout were from the same Rub On sheet which co-ordinates with the collection. These rub-ons work really well and even maintain their shape when rubbed over a couple of different papers like the large red snowflake style shape in the top right hand corner.

It is difficult to tell from the photographs but I have added quite a few dots of Stickles glitter glue in Christmas Red to give the page a bit of sparkle.

As always you can find a link to the items used below :)

Jolly & Bright (Heidi Grace)

I have 2 more layouts for you today as christmas inspiration. This time I have used a collection by Heidi Grace called 'Jolly & Bright'. This collection of papers has shimmer papers, glitter papers and flocked papers to make your layouts more eye-catching. The set features pinks so isn't the traditional colour way for Christmas but its still a fun set and its quite nice that it is different (I think this one works particularly well for baby christmas photos!)

I used quite a few rub-ons from the Icon Rub Ons sheet on my first layout - there is a selection of different fun themed rub-ons to fill in any white spaces. It is difficult to see from the photographs but I have used a flock word paper and layered this with shimmer/glitter papers. The small banner of Gingerbread men are flocked :)

The doily shapes were cut using a new die by Couture Creations.

For the second layout I focused on the flocked holly paper. I cut another doily shape for this layout but in a white and added some white glitter glue to it to make it sparkle. The Say It In Crystals by Prima Marketing work really well with this collection as they are a mix of soft pink and white colours.

The border beneath the photograph is a new punch by Martha Stewart - it leaves large enough spaces to add pearl or glitter dots to.

Sweater Weather Layout (Simple Stories)

I have an Autumn themed layout for you today using the Sweater Weather Collection by Simple Stories. Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year for photographs and the collections released by manufacturers featuring all of the lovely reds, oranges and browns always makes its way onto my desk!

For this layout I used mainly papers with just a couple of embellishments which was the cluster on the bottom left hand corner of the photo. I mixed some paper leaves by Bazzill Basics (the pack contains leaves in a variety of lovely Autumnal colours) with a rhinestone leaf shape and a metal trinket by Bo Bunny.

The circle in the top right hand corner was cut using a new Little B set of dies (you can find the link to this item below).

One of the papers used was made up of 4x6" quotes and cards which you can cut apart - I took the middle out of one to create a wooden style frame for my photo.

Cozy Christmas Layout (Simple Stories)

I have another Christmas themed layout to share today using the Cozy Christmas collection by Simple Stories.

I recently saw a card with a shaker style banner embellishment and thought it would be a fun idea to incorporate it into a scrapbook layout. To do this you cut the banner shape and a shape out within it (christmas tree in this case). Cover the back with acetate. Then apply adhesive 3D foam pads around the outside edge of the whole banner except one little area where you can then slip sequins in. Once this is stuck to the page slip some sequins behind the banner and place the final 3D foam pad to secure the sequins in the shape.

The circle shape around the 'Dec 25th' card (cut from gold flurries paper) was cut using some new dies we have just received by Little B. In each set you get dies varying from small to large:

For the scallops die you are able to cut just a scalloped edge or you can cut the holes in the scallops as well. For my shape I placed the scalloped outer edge die on my cutting plate (Big Shot Machine), the inner die to cut the holes and then a circle die from the set below. I arranged all 3 on my cutting plate and kept them in place with some sellotape - I then ran them through my machine.

Christmas Layout (Fabscraps & Sue Wilson)

I have a Christmas layout to share with you today. This one is largely using Fabscraps paper - a fairly new range of products to The Craftz Boutique website. For this layout I wanted to fold over 2 corners and use this space to make it look like there was a different layer beneath.

After bending over the bottom left hand corner of the paper I used some Dies by Sue Wilson and plain cardstock to create a cluster of Poinsettias. I layered some with smaller Poinsettias and bent these up to make the flowers 3D. I finished these clusters using a brad and some glitter glue on the leaves.

Halloween Layout Using Watercolour Inks

I wanted to share a Halloween Layout today. For this layout I didn't use any patterned paper, I decided to make my own using just black and white cardstock and a variety of inks and stamps.

For the colours on the background I used 3 different watercolour paints (Im Not Limon, Pugnacious Purple and Pewter - you can find the links below). I added some water to a pot at a time, gave it a mix and then tipped the liquid out onto the paper. I then spritzed the paint on the page to water down and disperse the paint (with a mister filled with water) and moved the page around to get drip lines - I then heated with a heat gun. I repeated this with all the colours and then added some stamping in random areas on the pages and some rub ons.

For the chipboard pieces, I firstly painted these in black acrylic paint. On the large Tattered Diamond piece I added some of the watercolour paints in areas and then added some Frantage Embossing powder in areas.

Authentique Cozy 2

I have another two layouts to share using the new Authentique 'Cozy' collection. Whilst the snow isn't quite here yet this collection arrived to us recently and its too nice to keep on the desk waiting for Snow!

These two layouts were designed to go side by side in a scrapbook as both layouts have the same sized centre piece - this was created by matting a few papers on top of each other with rounded corners. I then used papers from the 6"x6" paper pad, stickers, die-cuts and cut apart enhancements paper to create a range of different embellished squares and rectangles - the white card stock areas will be where I attach my photos once the snow arrives!

You can find a list of the items used below :)

If you purchased the 6"x6" paper pad, the details sticker sheet and the die-cut components for the other two layouts shown in my previous post then you will not need to buy these again if you wanted to do these two layouts too. I used the leftovers from my previous two layouts as well as a couple more papers to produce these 2 layouts as well.

Authentique 'Cozy' Layouts

I wanted to share today two layouts I created using a brand new collection by Authentique. 'Cozy' is a winter themed collection in kraft and powder blue colours. The tag on the first layout is was cut using a Little B die set which will be in stock very shortly. The tag set of dies in particular are very useful as it gives you 10 tag dies in varying sizes and styles. I will add a link once this is in stock.

For the second layout I used the 6"x6" paper pad and a hexagon die - the 6"x6" paper pads are perfect when cutting out 'embellishment' pieces as it gives you the smaller prints. Before laying the hexagons down I used some Sparkle Texture Paste in White and a Crafters Workshop mask to add some snowflakes to the background. It is difficult to see from the photograph but the Prima Marketing Sprig already has some frosty glass glitter on each of the leaves so it is perfect straight from the packet for Winter themed photographs.

Christmas Mini Album Kit...

We have just added a Christmas Mini Album Kit to the Website. This kit is perfect to create before Christmas, leaving blanks for photos and journaling to be added afterwards and would also make a great gift for someone.

In the kit you receive the chipboard album, book rings and all of the papers and embellishments you need to create the album below. The only additional items you will need to create this album is adhesive, a craft knife and a craft mat.

The album features pages in different Christmas themed shapes including a Snowman, Christmas Tree, Stocking and more! To create the album each page is first covered with a sheet of patterned paper and then stickers, embellishments and cut-apart elements are built upon this. We created pockets on some of the pages to make the album more interactive and allow for more photos, journaling and snippets to be added.

The images below show you our pages within the album yet there really are so many different cut-apart elements on the papers included within the kit that you could really make this album unique to you. You can see a guide on how to prepare the base of each page at the bottom of this page.

On the reverse side of the Snowman page we created two pockets to allow for snippets to be stored:

As well as decorating each page we also used some of the papers with some cardstock to add in additional pages such as this Journal page on the right:

Once we had completed our album we took some of the left-over cut-apart quotes and added these in as extra pages:

An additional extra page we created with the scraps at the end of the album is this 'Joy' page - ready for either a photograph or some Journaling:

To prepare each shape ready for decorating you will need some adhesive, a craft knife, a craft mat and a piece of paper that you want as the background.

We gave the edges of each piece a coat of paint first to stop any brown chipboard being viewed. After covering each sheet with paper you do not see the paint so the colour isn't too important and you could miss this step out if you wanted.

Next, add adhesive to one side of the chipboard shape - I used a roller mouse but you could use something stronger such as double-sided tape.

Stick the chipboard page to the back of your chosen paper and run your craft knife carefully around the edge of the chipboard.

Once you have cut around the shape, punch holes in the paper to allow for the album rings.

Flip the chipboard shape over and you are ready to begin embellishing your page. Remember to keep any scraps of paper left over from cutting around the shape as you can use these to decorate the pages as you wish.
